Afternoon on the beach at Seatown in Chideock

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

We visited Seatown in Chideock over the weekend for a afternoon break by the sea. This is the first time I’ve been to Seatown and it is a lovely hamlet of just a few houses, a pub, farm and a beach.

The Wynreford Stream runs down along the road towards the beach and across the shingle opposite the Anchor Inn. As expected, the pub and beach were absolutely packed with visitors!

Despite it being the middle of July today has been the first sunny day of the week in Weymouth so it was the ideal chance to visit the nearby Abbotsbury Gardens. Below are a few snapshots taken there.

The Blue Pool in Furzebrook near Wareham

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

We visited The Blue Pool today in Furzebrook near Wareham and Corfe Castle and can definitely recommend it. The water in the pool has fine clay under the surface and on a sunny day the water appears to be a brilliant blue or turqouise colour.

The pool is surrounded by woodland with lots of footpaths offering some stunning views. You can find more information at http://www.bluepooltearooms.co.uk

A quick trip over to Lulworth Cove

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

After a week of solid rain it was nice to have a sunny day today so we popped over to Lulworth Cove for a few hours on Saturday. Definitely recommended for anyone in the area if only for the delicious Marshfield Farm Ice Cream that is on sale there!

Only enough time for a short visit as is back to work this afternoon as we are launching a couple of new sites early next week so it is time to crack on…

Monday, May 26th, 2008

Despite the horrible Bank Holiday weather we visited Burton Bradstock beach today which is well worth a visit. Lucikly the rain managed to hold out long enough for a nice stroll along the beach!
